Grinding, crack and joint repair, surface correction and moisture evaluation are part of the process when the slab requires them. The goal is not simply to make the surface look good on day one — it is to build the system around the actual condition of the concrete.

Epoxy and polyaspartic materials can serve different roles in a floor system. Epoxy may provide a primer, base or decorative layer, while a specified polyaspartic coating may be used as a protective finish. Cure time, UV exposure, moisture and traction requirements affect the selection. Bear Design recommends the combination after evaluating the slab.
Flake systems start at $8.50 per square foot and metallic epoxy starts at $12.50 per square foot. Final pricing depends on slab condition, preparation and the complete system specified.
